Differentiated instruction is a framework that provides multiple ways of meeting students' needs. As teachers, we are faced with meeting the needs of each student to ensure they succeed. Studies have shown that the teacher plays the most important role in a student's learning (Smith, 2007). Therefore, as an educator, it is our job to determine and meet the needs of each of our students. The Power of Technology An interest-driven learning environment motivates and engages students. When students are interested in a topic, they retain more information, put in more effort, and make connections to prior knowledge (Richards, 2020). In my unit plan, students are using their 1:1 Chromebook devices each day. My IEP and ELL students use a digital reader's notebook on Google Slides in place of a physical copy.
